Sales Analyst – Southern Europe H/F

G-Star France is currently looking for a Commercial Analyst to be the linking pin between the business in Southern Europe (France, Iberia, Italy) and the Global Business Control Department in Amsterdam.

The Sales Analyst will be responsible for strong and reliable sales analyses, and support on the budgeting and strategic planning process.

Key accountabilities

Your main goal is to support the General Manager and Head of Business Control to increase the overall sales productivity and to realize the ambitious growth path of the Southern Europe business. You will play a key role in the development and tracking of key performance indicators. Your sales insights on retail and wholesale customer, channel and product group level will directly impact the performance of the Region.

Secondly, you will perform business control activities, such as managing the Strategic Planning and Control cycle, prepare monthly business reporting and provide ad hoc analyses on the commercial performance of the region.

You will proactively discuss your findings with both the General Manager and Head of Business control. You will support the commercial deal making process and monitor sales conditions for the region. You will also develop customized commercial terms and conditions together with sales and business control.

You will be based at the G-Star Showroom in Paris and will report to the Head of Business control Southern Europe. You will work closely together with the sales managers in each country. Your key accountabilities are:

Commercial Analysis:

Gathering fact based sales information and consolidates them into standardized sales reports
Monitors sales volumes, margin and bottom line per retail store, (wholesale) customer, product group, and channel level
Develop and track key performance indicators
Standardizing sales reporting and provide reliable sales insights to General Manager and local Sales team
Business Control & Finance

Coordinating and optimizing the sales forecasts, budgeting and long term planning
Prepare Monthly Business Reporting and discuss with General Manager and Director Business Control
Involved in deal making process by determining commercial terms and conditions, while monitoring follow up and implementation
Works on special projects and ad hoc requests as required


Education and experience

Master degree in Business Economics (or similar)
4-6 years of experience in sales planning and/ or business controlling roles
Experience in retail, FMCG and/or fashion is a must
Strong technical aptitude, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAP
Deep business understanding, entrepreneurial behavior and basic knowledge of accounting and reporting processes

Excellent analytical skills combined with strong urge to understand the Business drivers behind the numbers. Able and willing to switch between various levels of complexity in daily job
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment. Being able to closely liaise with the HQ in Amsterdam
Self-aware, non-egocentric with strong personality
Proactive mentality with willingness to gain a position in the company by showing added value and building a solid sales analyst function in a fast-paced, collaborative, highly performance-driven culture
