Here’s what we’ll do together:

The Social Media Manager is responsible for briefing, publishing, social boosting, monitoring and reporting of our social campaigns and channels. You will be part of the marketing communications team at our HQ in Amsterdam. Working closely with the global PR & influencer team, plus local representatives in our key regions: Netherlands, Germany, Japan, South Africa and United States.

Our goal is to have our social channels reflect our aspirational brand vision and DNA. As such, your mission is to further premiumize social content, lead feed curation across G-Star’s global social channels and drive best-practice campaign roll-out. In close collaboration with the G-Star brand team, creative studio and agency partners you will create social assets for all our global social media channels. Secondly, you will support the digital teams (Ecom, Paid Social, Retail) to maximize commercial impact.

Your work will involve bringing a social perspective on our integrated campaigns, ensuring that global social content is aligned to both the brand vision and business priorities. Analyzing and reporting back on performance of our social content, both on owned and earned social channels. Proactively reporting on industry trends, providing inspiration on best-in-class social strategy to position G-Star as the most progressive denim brand. You are the company expert in social media.
 
In this role, we rely on the Social Media Manager to have a good overview of all the social campaign projects, managing deadlines, help the team prioritize, write content briefs as well. Being the liaison between social and PR, but also the rest of the teams and agency.
 
In this role, you will report to the Head of Marketing Communications, and will manage an intern.
 

Your tasks & responsibilities:

  • Writing social briefs for the brand team and agency, to amplify campaigns in the right social channels with the right content.
  • Support creative teams and agencies with the creation of associated social assets.
  • Oversee and create the social content calendar.
  • Responsible for content posting, proactive feed creation and curation.
  • Liaise with local markets to create locally relevant stories, with global appeal.

 

  • Responsible for social boosting and budget split across our key markets.
  • Monitoring results of campaigns and tweaking boosting budgets where needed.
  • Tracking consumer sentiment and liaise with customer service.
  • Creation of campaign performance reports.
  • Ongoing reporting on performance on a weekly, monthly and half-yearly basis.
  • Proactively report on social trends, competitor analysis, social implications.

 

What you bring to the table:

  • Strategic but hands-on professional with a sense for design and social content.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, preferably Instagram and Tiktok.
  • At least 4+ years of experience.
  • Preferably experience working with international retail brands.
  • Preferably experience with briefing creative teams and agencies.
  • Preferably knowledge working with Sprinklr or other social analytics software.
  • Affinity with fashion, design, art.
  • True interest in social media and digital trends.
