HERE’S WHAT WE’LL DO TOGETHER:
We are currently seeking a Product Developer with a passion for quality, sustainability, detail and fashion, for a new brand that G-STAR recently acquired. We’re looking for someone who knows what's happening in the industry and is familiar with the latest trends and developments.
You are a technical expert with great taste in respect to design and creation, a process in which you are closely involved every step of the way. You examine and assess all facets relevant to the product being developed and propose technical solutions as needed. You relate to and communicate constructively with your counterpart at the local production site, making sure they understand the product and are suitably instructed, thus guaranteeing flawless product development. You are also responsible for quality compliance and the timely completion of sample and production books.
YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow-up on proto, salesmen sample and production issues,
- Work closely together with the Design, Merchandise, Quality Assurance and Atelier Departments,
- Monitor and maintain quality and fit of all garments,
- Stay up to date with industry developments relevant to your product group,
- Responsible for quality compliance and the timely completion of sample and production techpacks,
- Examine and assess all facets relevant to the product being developed and propose technical solutions as called for,
- Communicate constructively with your counterpart at the local production site, making sure they understand the product and are suitably instructed, thus guaranteeing flawless product development,
- When applicable, travel abroad to manage on site product development,
- Keep PLM system updated and support the Suppliers, Purchase and Data and Pricing Departments in all information needs,
- Start-up price negotiations.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Bachelor’s degree in fashion management or equivalent from a recognized academic institution,
- 5-6 years of experience as a Product Developer at an international fashion retailer,
- Detailed product construction, fit and production process know-how,
- Strong fashion sense combined with a passion for innovative products and sustainability,
- Good communication and organizational skills,
- Team player with a hands-on attitude,
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to environment changes,
- Taking initiative and excellent problem-solving skills,
- Responsible, independent and committed,
- Prepared to travel when applicable,
- Outstanding communication skills in English.
